Family Connection

Music has the power to create extraordinary connections and treasured memories.  As the founding member of The Way Band, I try to embrace every event with a warmth and familiarity that turns gatherings into heartwarming family celebrations.  My goal for every event is to create a nurturing atmosphere that fosters a sense of unity among event attendees, making them feel like part of a close-knit musical family.

To do this, I try to learn as much as I can about the party and the guests, by asking questions like:

What is the occasion?

What is the desired function of the music during the event (i.e. dancing, background, or entertainment)?

Are there multiple parts of the event that the music should adjust for?

What style of music does the host like?

What do the guests like? (I either ask the host this, or surmise it based on experience, or at some events we put out our repertoire list and let people choose what they want to hear.)

From the moment The Way Band starts to play, our genuine love for music and their audience is hopefully palpable. We try to go beyond technical excellence & create an emotional connection that wraps guests in a warm musical embrace. Whether it’s a wedding, corporate event, or private party, we try to make everyone feel like they are part of a loving, musical family.

Our music transcends age barriers, unifying guests of all generations. Grandparents find themselves tapping their feet to familiar tunes, while the younger crowd enjoys contemporary hits. It’s a magical experience to witness people from different age groups come together on the dance floor, sharing laughter and creating cherished memories.

My favorite part of our performances is that guests are often not just spectators but active participants. The band invites individuals to join them on stage, sing along, or even share their musical talents. This inclusive approach fosters a sense of togetherness that lasts long after the event ends. Recently I took video of the entire event, edited it into a 3- or 4-minute montage as is my habit, and the grandmother who hosted the party called me to see if she could get the all the videos in their entirety! 🙂
