Back in October, I played a wedding rehearsal dinner at a venue in Accord, NY that completely blew me away…

While I had seen pictures of the grounds, cabins, and barns, I was unprepared for the sprawling lushness. No cars are allowed, so we had to load all our equipment into a van and a golf cart for a ride to the Farm House, just one of the many stunning event spaces the venue offers. On the way back down after the gig, the driver shared insights into the venue’s amazing aspects, including the new spa under construction. This experience prompted me to delve deeper and have a conversation with the events manager, Claire Paquin, to learn more.

“Cultivated Wild”

Claire emphasized the “cultivated wild” aspect of the property. With an owner possessing a keen eye for design, every corner of Inness is curated, providing a beautiful space for various events.  The design philosophy at Inness embodies duality, a thread woven through its exteriors, interiors, and landscape. The property strikes a balance between strong and soft elements, functional and aesthetic design, untamed growth, and manicured moments.

Although the buildings and furnishings appear to be a century old, they are all brand new! Inness is truly a full-service experience, providing a peaceful getaway from New York City, and because there is Wi-Fi everywhere, it offers escape without sacrificing connectivity. Dining spaces feature fireplaces, and the cabins come with their own fireplaces, adding warmth and coziness.

Diverse Spaces for Customizable Events

Beyond weddings, Inness hosts a range of events, from proposals and engagements to birthday parties, corporate retreats, and marketing experiences. The venue caters to weddings of varying sizes, offering diverse spaces for events. The Farmhouse, Event Barn, and additional ceremony circles and lawns provide options for customization. Leisure and Activities in Abundance

During our conversation, Claire highlighted the diverse leisure offerings at Inness. It has two pools (including a small round pool and a larger pool), a stunning golf course, tennis courts, and a range of activities such as pickleball. Classes on mixology and open fire dinners add to the unique offerings. Plus, as I mentioned, Inness is building a spa scheduled for completion in 2024.

Minimalist Cabins: A Unique Travel Experience

Along the wooded edge of the property, Inness offers 28 minimalist cabins that provide a unique travel experience. These cabins offer the feeling of being at home, yet with the amenities of a luxury hotel. The cabins are strategically positioned — close enough to not feel isolated, yet providing the perfect amount of distance for a secluded retreat.

Inness earned its spot on Condé Nast Traveler’s Hot List for 2022. This recognition showcases its thoughtful fusion of design elements, creating a cozy and beautiful retreat that captivates guests year-round.  The same year, the venue was also featured in Travel and Leisure’s “Best Hotels in the World.”
